Thanks ! Originally i had implemented a real wave effect for the donuts... but i got really the see sick with that... so i just changed to up & down moviing in sync for all donuts. :D
Hello.Good work, especially when considering, that this is your first game on the C64.I have two suggestions for a possible v1.1 version. There should also be a selectable mode in the game-menu, that speeds up the entire gameplay (both, the player-sprite's movements and those of the enemies), e.g. a choice of the difficulty-level (easy and hard), because the gameplay is a bit slow, in my eyes. If a player then selects hard mode, everything could run a bit faster. And it would also be nice, if the highscores were saved in the game. For the sake of fairness, two score-lists would be necessary then, one for the easy and one for the hard mode. Such things would improve the game and nice to have in a future version.
thanks for your comment and Suggestion. I had some speed limitation constraint due to my code , that's why it is not as fast i would like. But if you play in NTSC it is a little faster. Thanks for your suggestions for High score. I don't know if i will come back on that game. But if i did , i will take them in consideration for sure.
Yes, it could be. Somebody suggested me this C compiler that i did not know. May be i will try to use it. Not sure i will port that game to this compiler , but for a new game for sure.
If you ask me, i think "Donutsman" is worth it. The game itself is good, it only suffers from a bit of slow gameplay and if that could be fixed, by using a faster compiler, it should be done. But of course, that's your decision. It would be a fine thing, though. :)
A very good idea for a game in which the classic PAC MAN is an element ๐ I think that adding a bit more speed to the movement of the main character will allow for even more fun in the gameplay, which does not change the fact that the game is enjoyable ๐ I would like to talk to you about this game. Please send me an e-mail.
Thanks a lot for your comment and your video!. Yes for the speed i know. But i have a technical constraint due to my code... i was not able to make it move faster unfortunately. I contact you per mail.
Well done in creating your very first game. I was very impressed with Donutsman. The game design is sort of pacman, but with an additional special feature before completing the level. Nice music also.

Could the program "Oscar64" maybe help here, it can generate pretty fast code?

Oscar64 is said to generate about 6x faster code from C than cc65.

Thanks for that link , i did not know that one!. I will have a look. It seem very interesting.
